2025 Art Therapy Book – Volume I. Contributions

► We are very happy to announce that the group of contributors for Volume I of the Art Therapy Book, The Creative Path, has now been confirmed. This exciting project brings together professionals from the fields of Psychology, Counselling, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Gestalt Therapy from across the globe.

We are honoured to include the participation of:

Yevgeny Ryaboy (Ukraine),

Dr. Manal Elewah (Alexandria-Egypt),

Yaro Starak (Canada),

Leah Muller (Australia),

Gemma Garcia Roman (EspaΓ±a)

As the book editor, (Gemma Garcia), I am truly looking forward to seeing the powerful and insightful contributions each author will bring to this collection. The official release of the book is expected in December 2025.

We have realised that since we started the project with the creation of the Gestalt Art Therapy training CAT©  in the Spanish language, in 2010, and our work at the Gestalt Art Therapy Center in Australia, the number of professionals incorporating more Art into the practice of Gestalt Therapy and/or other approaches, has grown remarkably and we would love to count with your contribution to the book.

The objective of the creation of this book Vol II, is to convey the experiences, investigations, opinions, and realizations of clients in workshops, and psychotherapy sessions, and the experiences of therapists, in supervision sessions and their processes, such as the result of the use of the arts in the Gestalt Psychotherapy and other approaches.

Thus, we have opened the period for receiving "expressions of interest" to collaborate on this project.

Participation is open if you are a GOLD Member and meet the minimum requirements. (Ask us for participation conditions)

In addition, we are planning to translate this book into the Spanish language.

During this workshop, we will see terms like Self-exploration and self-expression.

Creating a self-portrait allows individuals to explore their own identities, emotions, and experiences. It provides a means to express thoughts, feelings, and personal narratives visually.

Also, we will explore Self-acceptance and self-esteem: Engaging in self-portraiture can enhance self-acceptance and boost self-esteem. Through the process, individuals can develop a more compassionate and accepting attitude toward themselves.

Through the materials, we will see the power of the projections, the creations, and using narrative and storytelling.

Self-portraits can serve as visual narratives, allowing individuals to tell their personal stories or reflect on significant life events. They can communicate experiences and memories that might be challenging to express in words alone.

This 2 h workshop will give participants a relaxed time creating and discovering themselves.

Participants will receive our support and from the Gestalt Art therapy approach.
